Winter Activities

Outdoor action doesn’t stop once the snow falls, in fact, for many it’s just getting started.

Vermont is known for some of the best ski terrain in the East. With five ski resorts within an hour of downtown, you can ski or ride all day and apres in the city all night. Nordic skiing, backcountry touring, fat biking and snowshoeing are also incredibly easy to access right here in the valley or up in the nearby Green Mountains. Winter hiking is an inexpensive, accessible way for everyone to get some adventure and even a simple winter walk in parks like Red Rocks or Rock Point can be enough to get the blood pumping. If you’re a family looking for a real mix of activities for your winter getaway, there’s no better destination.
