Parks & Gardens

Greater Burlington is full of public parks and community gardens. Waterfront park is a classic; a premier lake-side recreational area with some of the best sunsets found anywhere. City Hall Park is great place to find some shade on a hot downtown day and Battery Park features spectacular views out over the water. Rock Point is a remarkable sanctuary inside Burlington city limits with easy hiking to stretch your legs while taking in some incredible views of the Lake.

Further afield, Mt Philo, the first of Vermont’s state parks, offers fantastic views of the Champlain Valley and the Adirondack Mountains of New York and the Laplatte Nature Park in Shelburne is a great place to walk your dog (on a leash, of course.) Along with a lovely fine dining experience, the Inn at Shelburne Farms features beautiful, lakeside Victorian gardens.
