Men’s Soccer Wins 2024 NCAA National Championship: Defeats Marshall 2-1 in Overtime

Celebrate UVM Men’s Soccer’s historic National Championship victory at a city-wide parade on Sunday, January 26th, at 1 PM, along Burlington’s iconic Church Street Marketplace. This free, family-friendly event brings fans, students, and locals together to honor UVM’s only non-ski team to win a national title, following their dramatic 2-1 overtime victory against Marshall.

Parking will be free at all city-owned parking facilities. The day kicks off with a pep rally at the Davis Center at 11:00 a.m. for students, featuring food, giveaways, and transportation to the Marketplace from Campus. Before the parade, Eastrise will lead the way by throwing out rally towels for the crowd to wave as the procession passes. Along the parade route, spirit groups and student athletes will manage tables stocked with posters and rally towels for attendees. The team will ride on flatbeds, tossing t-shirts to the crowd.

From 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., DJ Dave and MC Brian McLaughlin will energize the top block with music, trivia, and giveaways. The special guests of the day will be arriving promply at 12pm! Where a speaking event at the top of Church Street will follow. For public events following the parade see below.

Thanks to a partnership with Zero Gravity, every restaurant along the Church Street parade route will have the opportunity to feature the green and gold lager. Retail businesses along the route have been given flyers to display in their windows to show their spirit. WCAX will be live-streaming the parade, with promotional commercials already airing.
