Adventure Dinner is back by popular demand with another pop-up restaurant this summer, hosted at Peg & Ter’s Bar and Kitchen in Shelburne Village. Known for their ticketed immersive farm dinners, Adventure Dinner’s restaurant pop-ups deliver a dining experience that’s a little more casual but packed with just as much fun and local farmer love. Themed food and drink menus switch every 2-3 weeks. The themes don’t stop in the kitchen and bar but are carried through with decor, music, and even games.

Last year, from October through January, Adventure Dinner hosted a series of festive themes from Spooky Pumpkin to Santa’s Luau with seasonal menus that celebrated our local farm bounty. To kick off this summer’s residency, Adventure Dinner is taking advantage of what everyone has been obsessing about–the Paris Olympics. Chef Eric Hodet has designed a Parisian-inspired, farm-driven menu, organized by Olympian themes like “Floor Routine” with a satisfying yet delicate French Tarte Tartine and “Freestyle Swim” with Whitefish Ceviche and Raw East Coast Oysters. The star is, of course, “Racket Sports” with three ways to enjoy Tot Waffles; Tater tots crisped together in a waffle iron then topped with your choice of duck confit, Boursin fondue, or radish + snap pea.

To match the playful theme, pitchers of Rosé Frosé Slushee (yup, frozen rose) are available to order for the table. You can also order beloved summertime classics like a French 75 or Aperol Spritz by the glass or as a pitcher. Lauren Hayes, director of beverage and operations at Adventure Dinner, is known for crafting unique cocktails and mocktails and the menu displays her flex for dynamic beverages. A pink wine menu pays tribute to the city of lights and the cocktails and mocktails are inspired by the Olympic games. Rhythmic Gymnastics is a memorable gin cocktail with lavender honey, peach, lemon, and foam. Adventure Dinner firmly believes that fun can be had with or without alcohol and the menu regularly boasts a mocktail list that matches the oomph of its boozy counterparts. The alcohol-free Boulevardier Spritz is a stunning nod to a Negroni. You’ll be tempted to go dry after you order one, it’s that good.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an Olympics-themed restaurant without games. Olympic coverage streams non-stop on the big screen and shuffleboard keeps you entertained inside. Outside, two nets of Badminton are set up behind the restaurant, right next to casual picnic seating. On opening night, couples, friends, and families with young kids had a blast at the nets. It’s a great opportunity for parents to have a delicious and fun night out–even with their kids.

As the beloved Olympics come to an end in August, Adventure Dinner will switch themes to pay tribute to one of the most beloved summer films—JAWS. Starting August 15th, the menu will be a seafood frenzy with Lobster Bao, Hot Crab Dip, and Seared Salmon. But for the “landlubbers” who aren’t into salt water dishes, there will be Steak Frites and a fresh watermelon and local tomato salad.

To keep the environment casual and cool, this pop-up has counter service—order at the bar or the kitchen and staff will bring you all your treats to your table. For each night of the pop-up, they’ll be pouring special drinks and creating one-night-only dishes. Throughout the night the friendly team offers treats and sips tableside so you can get topped off without needing to leave your seat.

The Adventure Dinner Residency Pop-Up at Peg + Ter’s is open for reservations and walk-ins (no tickets required) on Thursdays and Fridays July 25 through August 23, 4-9 PM with Happy hour and $2 oysters from 4-5 PM. Menus and reservations are available on the website and there are always some seats reserved for first-come, first-serve walk-ins. If you’ve never experienced an Adventure Dinner before, this is a great opportunity to see what it’s all about. It’s a great excuse to gather with friends or have an adventurous date night. Come for small plates, a drink, and a game of badminton, or to enjoy a full dinner experience!
