Saturday, April 6th, 2024

9 a.m. - Start your day with a caffeine kick and a hearty breakfast at Burlington Bagel or one of the many cozy local diners. Afterward, set off on a 15-minute drive to Shelburne for an adventurous morning exploring the Shelburne Museum and the picturesque Shelburne Farms. (Both of which will be hosting events for the Solar Eclipse on April 8th) 

12 p.m. - Relax and Recharge with a farm-to-table lunch at one of the delicious restaurants in Shelburne.

2 p.m. - Dive back into Burlington's art scene with one of Burlington’s many events going on throughout the weekend. Visit local artists, makers, and entrepreneurs at the Vermont Spring Market or the Made In Vermont Marketplace or swing by and celebrate the Solar Eclipse with Obscura BTV a weekend of fun programming in downtown Burlington! Check out some more options below!

5 p.m. - If you’re not artsy-d out for the day, we’d recommend hitting up Burlington’s South End Arts District for a deeper look into Burlington’s artisan culture. Explore through the S.P.A.C.E. Gallery and Burlington's Soda Plant or sort through worldly featured lighting at The Lamp Shop. 

Note: While you're in the South End, consider visiting one of the nearby breweries or wine bars, such as Zero Gravity Brewery, Switchback Brewery, Burlington Beer Company, or the tasteful Dedalus Wine Bar, where you can connect with friends and sample delicious bottles of wine. More breweries can be found here!

7 p.m. - We’d highly recommend making reservations in advance for dinner at one of Burlington's exceptional restaurants. If you don't have a reservation try popping into Taco GordoZero Gravity, or VT Pub & Brew! All local favorites with No Reservation Needed.

9 p.m. - Check out the local music scene at The Radio Bean or Nectar's Live. These unique Burlington music venues are known for hosting talented local musicians, comedians, and more. The Brown Eyed Women will be playing live at Nectar’s! 

 

Sunday, April 7th, 2024

8 a.m. - If you’re staying downtown, we’d recommend kickstarting your day with a breakfast at The Grey Jay, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with a delectable menu. However, there are plenty of options available if you’re looking for something different, Deep City is also set to reopen in the coming months with a new brunch menu. Check out more restaurant options here. 

10 a.m. - Weather permitting, get out and connect with Vermont's natural beauty with a morning hike through one of the region's many trail systems. A few recommendations include the Intervale Center, Mt. Philo State Park, Ethan Allen Park, or the Burlington Bike Path. There are plenty of options throughout the region. Check out more trails and information here.

4 p.m. - Head downtown to the iconic Church Street Marketplace for an afternoon of shopping, sightseeing, and snacks. With a number of restaurants along the Marketplace, grab a coffee and a scone, a slice of pizza, or a full on meal and discover why Burlington is known for its delicious local food. 

7:30 p.m. - Catch a show at the Flynn Theater or enjoy some laughs at the Vermont Comedy Club., You can find events from throughout the region here! 

9 p.m. - Conclude your evening with craft cocktails at Devil Takes a Holiday or The Wallflower Collective, some of Burlington's newest and trendiest cocktail bars.

Monday, April 8th, 2024 (The Day of the Solar Eclipse)

8 a.m. - Start your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the much-anticipated Solar Eclipse. Check out a full list of breakfast/brunch options here.

10 a.m. - Take a stroll through the Church Street Marketplace and the Burlington Waterfront to soak in the lively atmosphere on this special day. With a whole slue of Eclipse Events going on throughout the day, it’ll be wise to check out your options! Solar Eclipse Events can be found here! 

12 p.m. - Ensure you have your eclipse viewing area picked out, your eclipse glasses ready and all necessary equipment for the eclipse experience. Remember to dress warm! April weather can be highly unpredictable! 

2:30 p.m. - Head to your selected viewing point for the Solar Eclipse and get prepared. Bring chairs and blankets for comfort, depending on your chosen location. There will be parking available throughout the city, if you manage to secure a spot at one of the downtown parking garages, found here. Then you will be all set! However, if those are full, consider parking along Route 127 in Burlington and taking the short - 5 minute shuttle into town. Directions can be found here. 

 

CHECK OUT THESE ECLIPSE EVENTS AND VIEWING AREAS:

3:26 p.m. - Witness the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE, a once in a lifetime opportunity that will peak from 3:26 pm to 3:29 pm, with a duration of 3 minutes and 15 seconds. The partial solar eclipse will extend until 4:37pm  Be sure to have proper Solar Eclipse Glasses to witness this event and if you’re looking to take photos with your IPhone, check out these recommendations. 

4 p.m. - After the eclipse, relax and discuss your unforgettable experience over a drink and charcuterie board at one of Burlington's outstanding restaurants. If you plan to stay for dinner, it's wise to make a reservation.

6 p.m. - Check out this list of amazing events and things to do once the Eclipse has finished. Burlington will be full of regional events and depending on your preference you’ll be able to choose from Food Truck Festivals, downtown restaurants, or a variety of other fun and exciting events to top off your Eclipse Experience.
