South End Art Hop

South End Art Hop - September 6th - 8th


This festival celebrates the creativity and artistry of the community, and it draws thousands of visitors each year. The event features open art studios, galleries, and other creative spaces throughout the South End, giving attendees the opportunity to meet local artists, view their works, and learn about their creative process. In addition to the art exhibits, the festival also includes live music performances, food and drink vendors, and a variety of interactive activities for all ages. The South End Art Hop is a wonderful way to experience the unique artistic culture of Burlington, and to connect with the community in a creative and meaningful way.

Festival of Fools

The Festival of Fools - August 2nd - 4th


This a celebration of street theater, circus arts, and general foolishness, and it draws thousands of visitors each year. This year, on August 4-6th, performers from all over the world come to showcase their talents, and the festival includes a wide range of acts such as acrobatics, juggling, stilt-walking, and clowning. In addition to the performances, there are also workshops and activities for all ages, including face painting, hula hooping, and balloon twisting. The Festival of Fools is a beloved tradition in Burlington and a wonderful way to bring the community together for a weekend of fun and laughter.

Vermont City Marathon - May 26th


The VCM draws runners from all over the world, its scenic course winds through the picturesque streets of Burlington and along the shores of Lake Champlain. Taking place over Memorial Day weekend, the race attracts both elite athletes and amateur runners, it features a variety of events, including a marathon, half marathon, relay race, and 5K. The Vermont City Marathon is a beloved event in the Burlington community, and it draws crowds of spectators who come out to cheer on the runners and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Vermont Green FCVermont Green FC - May 18th - July 13th

In their last few seasons playing in USL League 2, Vermont Green FC quickly became a "must-see" event for residents and visitors alike. Playing at the at the University of Vermont’s Virtue Field, they posted some of the highest attendance in the country and made a deep run in the playoffs. Even better, the atmosphere at the matches is as electric as it is family-friendly.

Located in just about every town throughout the region, these vibrant market are home to more than 200 vendors, selling everything from fresh produce and meats to handmade crafts and jewelry. South End Get Down 

A weekly event that takes place every Friday night from May 26th to September. Also located in the South End Arts District, this outdoor food truck rally features a rotating lineup of local and regional food vendors, craft beer, live music, and a lively atmosphere. Ben & Jerry's Concerts on the Green:

A popular summer concert series that takes place on the picturesque Shelburne Museum green. The series features a diverse lineup of nationally recognized musicians and bands, as well as up-and-coming artists. Concert-goers can relax on the expansive lawn and enjoy the music, food, and drink offerings from local vendors.
