With the release of the Vermont Forward phased reopening plan we can finally, with fingers crossed, start thinking about the events we might check out this Summer. Sometimes you just don’t know how much you love something until it’s gone. It’s cliché, but oh so true.

The lost year of 2020 drove home just how much our concerts, ballgames, and festivals and fairs mean to the fabric of this place. Artists, promoters, and venues did their very creative best to keep us entertained in settings that were either virtual or drastically modified, but it’s just not quite the same thing as gathering in person. Events returning to Vermont is about a lot more than our restarting economy, it’s about restarting our culture. And so it’s with excitement and anticipation, that we’re looking forward to re-experiencing these things that we used to take for granted.

We’re also expecting a cautious approach from our events industry. They want to open back up in such a way that we can stay open. Don’t forget your face mask and check in advance for event guidelines and safety practices before you buy tickets or leave home. That said, let’s be safe and let’s have some fun as events start to go live!

We’ve launched our events calendar to help promote the region’s concerts, performing arts, festivals and fairs. It’s a little thin now, but we expect to see it start filling up as we get closer to summer. Stay tuned!
